Lafayette: High-Design Biodiversity

View-Centric Landscape Design in Lafayette

In Lafayette’s premier neighborhoods—such as Indian Peaks, Spring Creek, and Waneka Landing—the landscape is often defined by its relationship to the horizon. We specialize in view-centric architecture, making sure every stone wall, pergola, and specimen tree is positioned to frame, rather than block, views of the back range.

We use low-profile hardscaping and sunken fire pits to keep visual lines clean, allowing the mountains to remain the primary focal point of the property.

Horticultural Artistry for a Vibrant Landscape

Our Lafayette designs often center on horticultural artistry. We use a diverse palette of jewel-tone perennials and structural grasses to create a garden that feels vibrant and alive.

This botanical narrative is supported by high-performance hardscapes, such as natural moss-rock boulders and premium flagstone, which help ground the design in the local geography. Whether the property overlooks the Indian Peaks Golf Course or a private acreage lot, the goal is to balance manicured luxury with the wild soul of Colorado.

Engineered Hardscapes for Lafayette’s Clay Soil

Lafayette homeowners often deal with expansive clay, which can cause serious problems for traditional concrete patios. Our systems-engineering approach treats this soil as a structural variable. We excavate deeper than standard contractors, install 8 to 12 inches of compacted road base, and use geotextile fabrics to help stabilize the ground.

This creates a base that moves as a single unit, helping prevent individual pavers from shifting or sinking over time.

Soil Health and Long-Term Botanical Performance

We also address Lafayette’s pH buffering issues. Colorado soil is naturally alkaline, which can lock nutrients and cause plants to turn yellow, a condition known as chlorosis.

We use chelated nutrient management and organic acidifiers in our stewardship plans to help keep the landscape deep green and vibrant. By focusing on the invisible health of the soil, we help support the long-term performance of the landscape investment.
